About RAC

RAC, which principally provides roadside assistance and general insurance, has been around for years. It was established in 1897. It’s impressive growth, which has seen it rise to one of the UK’s most well-respected motoring organisations for both business and private road users, now means it caters for around 8 million motorists directly and as a result of its subsidiaries RAC Motoring Services Ltd, RAC Financial Services Ltd and RAC Insurance Limited. Proud of its efficient, cost effective and flexible service, RAC supports its activities with a customer care team devoted to ensuring members get the solutions they require as effectively and quickly as possible. And its service is backed by one of the most innovative and advanced computer systems to ensure the high standards its sets itself can be achieved “on the road”. Via around 2,000 patrols, operating from 24/7 breakdown assistance centres, RAC attends nearly 3 million breakdowns a year in the UK as well as overseas through RAC Europe.

RAC Customer Services

RAC customer service is tailored to finding solutions to customer requirements as quickly as possible. A dedicated team is on hand to answer a variety of queries including breakdown assistance, RAC motor insurance and other related insurance products, vehicle checks and inspections, RAC driving products, car passports for dealers, RAC travel services, RAC business cover and other general enquiries. The company has also implemented a service so that those with a hearing impairment can text their query and receive a response from the customer services team via text message. RAC is proud of its customer care and therefore welcomes feedback. It intends to deal with any problems by the end of the next working day. If that’s not possible, RAC will contact customers to explain the reason behind the delay, why a solution hasn’t been found and what is being done about it. A call or letter will be provided within two months providing a resolution or details of any investigation and its findings.
